Son Injured
Anonymous
We heard your story on the news today. We couldn’t believe this site. We have an incident to share. When our son was a high school sophomore he was tending goal and the wind was wild that day. The goal was not anchored and the wind picked it up and the goal came right down on his ankle. He suffered torn tendons and we thought it was broken. Actually, we were told it might’ve healed quicker if it was broken. Needless to say, (the incident was) very scary and it was not taken seriously! His coach told him to go get ice for it! He could hardly walk. We had a struggle with the school, but they finally paid our medical bills and the coach got quite a talking to. Hearing your stories made us realize that it could have been a lot worse. Thank you for making the public aware of this problem. Coaches need to be aware and responsible.
